Typography
For our typography design we started by planning ideas of
objects in the room that relate to fashion as replacement for each letter. We came
up with seven materials to use in the project. Our first idea of the ‘F’ we
used our hair to create the straight lines, the contrast of the two hair
colours looked vibrant. For the ‘A’ we used three long and thin paintbrushes to
represent the art of fashion. Next was the ‘S’ and also the ‘H’ we decided on
using a scarf of for the S and different materials for the H which held strong
colours, materials in fashion are its main icon. For the ‘I’ we found a
skeleton, we took a picture of the higher body including the face which holds
the eye in. The ‘O’ we got the response from the camera as in fashion photography
is a key object, we used the lense of the camera of the O shape. Lastly for the
letter ‘N’ we found plenty of magazines which portray fashion, we placed the
six magazines down under black sugar paper and it gives a deep black for the object
to reflect off.
We wanted to design a typography using different objects to
relate to fashion as it will look different but also gives a meaning for each
letter.
Once the photographs had been taken, we placed the images
onto the computer to be stitched on Photoshop. Our final design concentrates on
the vivid light and dark tones from the flash of the camera, with the objects
on the sugar paper.
